Nah. Today SRT is, for the most part, one chassis (granted, a good one, an old E-Class).
I’ll give it to them, though - they continue to make a ton of money off a 13-year-old platform.

It’s the best kind of retro look. One that’s paid for.
Also, Jeep.

Have that meet-up planned to see Bob’s Ferrari? =)

Haha, not yet, I sure hope to make that happen though! I’m passing through Sacramento next month on a camping trip, but likely not in the Porsche, so we’ll see.
As to the next piece, I don’t know exactly. I’d like to finish the ones I have in mind about the state and future of the automotive repair industry or classic car work in this country. I have another one developing in my head on what I guess is my philosophy on playing with cars and the urgency to do it now, while we still can, and how that applied to my journey towards getting the 911 . It was rather a last, best chance situation as far as I was concerned. I’ve been thinking about that for some time, and the buildup to Luftgekuh lt, the culture there, and this great piece by Rennfilms sort of crystallized it. Incidentally, Josh with the red-door 911 is sort of a buddy and lived here for a bit, his outlook and use of these cars is a serious inspiration.

Great video. Looking forward to whatever you come up with next.
“while we still can” - I can’t imagine that our country will ever make it illegal to own or drive these cars we love. They can certainly legislate that all new cars sold have to be more efficient (or electric only, as some countries are doing). Those of us willing to own and maintain old cars will eventually become such a blip on the radar that it won’t make a meaningful difference.
I penciled in a track day in a couple months on my calendar. Hopefully I can get a friend or two to join me there!

It’s not so much that I expect our country to make it illegal, but I live in California, which has gone from the genesis of car culture to the vanguard against it, at least politically. At least it’s still thriving in the trenches, so to speak. Long term, I’m sure we’ll be “allowed” to have them, but I can see a day when the expense of registration and insurance (not to mention fuel) on old cars put them out of reach of the average enthusiast.
Awesome you’re getting to the track! Hallett? I haven’t done a track day since my bachelor party 12 years ago, sort of miss it.

Yes, Hallett. Time to get back!
